Halloween Hayride Horror

image

Each year, the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride works to create brand new experiences for attendees. This year will be heavily focused on scenes of haunt and disturbia as the ride chronicles old news stories of serial killings, the trapped souls of the Griffith grounds that have been reported by witnesses for over a century, the legend and curse of Petranillia, tragic orphanage fires that took the lives of those whom still wander the grounds unaware of their demise, victims of psychopathic torture, religious cult sacrifice, witch trial hangings and so much more.

“In-Between” Dark Maze, often referred to as the best in the state, will return as a pitch black labyrinth that thrill seekers may or may not escape. Not for the faint of heart, this attraction will send scare seekers into a sea of blackness with nothing but their hands in front of them and a low voltage lantern, that doesn’t help them see as much as it helps them be seen. The demons, maniacs, and creatures residing in these walls have grown unusually large and vicious. But beware of “Doom” the master of these walls, for he is the most vicious of them all.

Lastly, “Purgatory,” is a sideshow to entertain guests while they wait. NEW this year is the “Carving Shack” a sit down activity where guests can pick out a pumpkin and let their creativity fly, and “Death Row” an interactive room that allows guests an up close and personal look at devices of death used throughout history. Returning will be psychics, games, the scary-go-round, house of mirrors, movies, music, magic and freak shows, demonic stilt walkers, photo scenes, and more – there is plenty of entertainment to keep busy and all activities in “Purgatory” are included in your ticket excluding food, gaming, & merchandise.

New ‘Plugged In’ Free Concert Series at Universal CityWalk

Free Concert Series in Hollywood / Universal City, CA

Neon Trees and Good Charlotte will be the first among a stellar roster of musicians to perform during Universal CityWalk‘s® new “Plugged In” concert series featuring free, full-set performances throughout the year.

On October 26, CityWalk jumpstarts the fall “Plugged In” concert series with a free 7:30 p.m. performance by Neon Trees.  Their highly-popular debut album “Habits,” which includes the #1 hit single “Animal,” has quickly skyrocketed their popularity and made them one of 2010’s biggest breakthrough artists.  As part of the event, fans will be able to purchase the CD and have it signed at a meet-and-greet following the performance.

Their performance coincides with Hard Rock Cafe’s annual month-long campaign for breast cancer awareness, “PINKTOBER™,” whereby the band will autograph a pink guitar for a silent auction that evening at the Hard Rock Cafe with proceeds benefiting the cause.

Pop-punk rockers Good Charlotte will rock the new CityWalk stage on Thursday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. in celebration of “Cardiology”, the band’s first album release in nearly four years.  Good Charlotte was founded in 1996 by identical brothers Joel and Benji Madden. The band shot to stardom with such hits off that disc as “The Little Things” and “Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous.” Following the massive success of “Young and the Hopeless,” Good Charlotte released two additional hit CDs, 2004’s “The Chronicles of Life and Death” in 2004 and “Good Morning Revival” in 2007.

Additional free  “Plugged In” concerts will include performances by such popular locals bands as “Saint Motel,” “Red Cortez” and “Voxhaul Broadcast” during the L.A. Weekly LA Weelly’s 101 Experience on Sunday, November 7 starting at 3:00 p.m. on the new CityWalk outdoor stage.

More information about Universal CityWalk’s upcoming events can be found on www.CityWalkHollywood.com.  Regular updates on CityWalk, including “Plugged In” artist announcements, and meet and greet opportunities can also be found on Twitter @CityWalkLA and Facebook.
