The Gibson Amphitheatre will turning off their lights and locking thier doors forever this month. It was originally opened as an outdoor ampahitheatre called Universal Amphitheatre in 1972, with its premiere show Jesus Christ Superstar the musical.
An eclectic array of legendary artists have graced this stage such as Radiohead, David Bowie, Madonna, Nine Inch Nails, and Fleetwood Mac. This “acoustically sensational” treasure will be truly missed.
The amphitheatre is being cleared away to make room for the Harry Potter theme ride coming to Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. Those these changes will bring added excitement to park goers, it is with heavy hearts and many lasting memories we say farewell to this icon venue.
