Holidays in Los Angeles are all about getting out and enjoying some festive cheer. With warmer temperatures than most states this time of year, we want to encourage you to see the lights and soak in all the fun activities LA has to offer. Allow us to highlight a few events and activities that will keep you busy before this jolly season ends.

Don Tiki’s Hot Lava Holiday Show

Featuring Hawai‘i’s top musicians, Honolulu lounge meisters Don Tiki give the holidays a real Music Center Holiday Sing-Alongboost of exotica with this special show. Fans include none other than Anthony Bourdain, who says, “Tiki supergroup Don Tiki knows the world, the subculture of tiki…it really doesn’t get much better than this!”

Music Center’s Holiday Sing-A-Long

Active Arts at the Music Center presents an annual holiday tradition that’s not to be missed! Sing along to live musical accompaniment and have fun in the Music Center Plaza under crisp, cool skies. Free admission, seating capacity is limited. Tickets are distributed on the day of the event beginning at 6 p.m. The Holiday Sing-Along will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. One ticket per person to those waiting in line. First come, first served. Rain or shine. No reservations necessary.

Holiday Cheer at the Grove

Now thru December 24, 2012
The Grove’s tenth annual tree lighting on November 11th kicked off its season of Holiday Cheer, Santa and snow. Snowflakes float from above every night at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Enjoy The Grove’s 100-foot tall white fir, featuring more than 15,000 lights and 10,000 festive ornaments. Santa’s Cottage is open during center hours now thru December 24th.

La Posadas at Olvera Street

Each year from December 16th until Christmas EveOlvera Street merchants and their families walk through El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument in a ceremonial re-enactment of Joseph and Mary’s nine-night search for sanctuary. The tradition features a procession with sing-alongs and piñata breaking, and is one of the oldest events in the city.

Festivities at the Farmers Market

December 20 thru December 24, 2012
Celebrate the season at the Farmers Market and enjoy traditional caroling, holiday arts and crafts, and live swing, jazz, and country/western bands playing everyone’s favorite Christmas tunes. The festivities also include a visit by the Radio Disney Road Crew and must-see Nutcracker marionette shows. Click here for the complete schedule.

Sleepy Hollow Lights Extravaganza

December thru First Week of January 2013
Its name sounds more like a place you’d visit on Halloween, but the Torrance neighborhood of Sleepy Hollow has been embracing the Christmas spirit for decades with spectacular holiday light displays. Begin your visit to the Sleepy Hollow Christmas Lights Extravaganza from Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance, then slowly drive or stroll along Robert Road, where every house is decorated and the tree-lined street is glittering with lights. Local kids will often sell hot cocoa to visitors as they pass by their houses.

Candy Cane Lane Lights & Decorations

Every year, an eight square-block area of the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Woodland Hills is transformed into a dazzling celebration of lights, figures and artificial snow. A Woodland Hills tradition since 1952, Candy Cane Lane is an informal group of homeowners who collectively decide each year to put on an amazing holiday display of lights and decorations.

Located at the intersection of Lubao and Oxnard Streets in Woodland Hills. Visitors drive slowly down the street with their headlights dimmed so that everyone can enjoy the lights. The closest exit is Winnetka, off the 101 freeway. Residents ask that visitors drive by no later than 10 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on weekends
